a principle or set of principles that act as a guide to help contain scope and consistent design decisions and decision making. A well structured design principle is make up of three (3) parts – statement (what is the principle); rationale (why have it), and implications (now you have adopted it, how will that affect our decision making, or said another way ‘how does that affect our design decisions?’).
